Nothing would be more predictable than white as the first summer color and lace as the fabric. Domenico and Stefano did a great job of reviving the latter. Inspired by their spring collection, almost every retailer concerns himself with having something white and lacy: from Dolce and Gabbana originally to Monsoon Accessorize.

Mine was bought in Barcelona and even doesn’t have any lable.

Pluses:

+ color and natural cloth won’t make you feel uncomfortable under the summer sun.

+ you got tanned, your skin color will play brighter.

Thursday suddenly pleased me with a performance by Victor Shenderovich, a popular Russian satirist/writer/scripwriter. Thanks a lot to Paola who invited me to that event.

Victor was telling fascinating humorous stories about Soviet Russia. We could enjoy live jazz and blues between his tales. Paola’s and mine bodies were dancing even though we were sitting. %)

Victor was smiling all the time. Smile is such a simple gesture, but how meaningful it is. You’re well disposed to anyone kindly smiling. :)

The only thing we were upset about is that we know almost nothing about that time, Soviet Russia. We all should be aware of not only each designer’s name’n’brand but our history as well ! :)

Grey -> Color

There is a boom of COLOR in Moscow. It’s not about color blocking, it’s about color shocking. For those who aren’t ready to transfer straight from winter greys’n’blacks to colors, try to experiment by simply using following scheme:

Sharlotka

The second day of the third spring month - isn’t it a good day for the apple pie ?!? =) 

I give you the easiest way to make apples eatable, if you have the same allergy on fresh apples as I do. This is Sharlotka - Russian apple pie.

• - 3 eggs
• - 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
• - 1 cup white sugar
• - 2 apples (green better)
• - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda + vinegar drop
• - butter for baking pan

1. Mix eggs, flour and sugar by a spoon. When a mixture is thick, take a half teaspoon with baking soda and drop a bit vinegar on it to make it sizzle and effervesce. Drop this sizzling fluid in a mixture.

2. Preheat oven to 200-220°C.

3. Core the apples and cut them into pieces. 2 apples are quite enough. On the photo I used too much.

4. Grease a pan. Arrange apple pieces on the pottom of the pan. Pour the mixture over the apples. Bake until it’s lightly brown.

A couple of weeks ago Natasha and me were coming back from our friend’s country house on a local train. We were the only passengers in that 11th coach, and probably in the whole train. Thus, the catwalk found its models.  :))
